About the Role

This role is fully remote, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere in South Africa and contribute to projects originally intended for the Kimberley, Northern Cape region. The ideal candidate will be a master of digital design tools and methodologies, adept at leveraging parametric modeling, generative design, and advanced visualization techniques to create unique and efficient architectural solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the exploration and implementation of advanced digital design techniques across various architectural projects.
• Develop and utilise parametric scripts and algorithms to generate complex geometries and optimise design solutions.
• Create sophisticated digital models and visualisations for design studies, client presentations, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with design teams to integrate digital tools and workflows into the design process, enhancing creativity and efficiency.
• Research and evaluate emerging digital design technologies, software, and plugins relevant to architectural practice.
• Develop custom digital tools and workflows to support unique project requirements.
• Analyse design data and performance metrics to inform design decisions and improve outcomes.
• Provide guidance and training to other team members on digital design tools and methodologies in a remote context.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Architecture, Digital Design, or a related field with a strong emphasis on computational and digital technologies.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience, with a significant specialisation in digital and computational design within architecture.
• Expert proficiency in industry-standard digital design software such as Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, and potentially scripting languages like Python or C#.
• Experience with advanced rendering and visualisation tools (e.g., V-Ray, Lumion, Enscape).
• Proven ability to develop and implement innovative digital design strategies.
• Strong understanding of architectural principles and construction methods.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, crucial for remote teamwork.
• A portfolio showcasing a range of digital design projects and creative problem-solving is essential.
