Senior Digital Design Engineer (m/f/x) Key Responsibilities • Drive innovation by evaluating and applying new technologies for high-speed FPGA-based data processing systems • Take ownership of FPGA development tasks from concept definition through verification and delivery • Design, implement, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and well-documented RTL designs • Develop and execute simulation and verification strategies to ensure design quality and robustness • Participate in FPGA architecture definition, design reviews, and code reviews • Collaborate with hardware, software, and system engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle • Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge within the team Required Qualifications • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field • 5+ years of professional experience in FPGA digital design, preferably in a telecommunications or high-performance computing environment • Strong proficiency in at least one hardware description language (VHDL or Verilog/SystemVerilog) • Strong understanding of digital design principles, including FSMs, pipelining, CDC, reset strategies, timing analysis, and timing closure • In-depth knowledge of modern FPGA technologies, especially AMD/Xilinx devices and tools • Experience with FPGA simulation and verification using tools such as QuestaSim, ModelSim, or equivalent • Experience with hardware/software co-design • Experience with version control systems such as Git Preferred Qualifications • Experience implementing complex DSP algorithms in FPGA, such as FEC decoders, digital filters, FFTs, DDC/DUC, and high-throughput processing pipelines • Experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet (100G/400G), AXI4/AXI4-Stream, Aurora, JESD204B/C, and DDR memory interfaces • Experience with FPGA verification methodologies and frameworks such as UVM, UVVM, OSVVM, or cocotb • Programming experience in Python, TCL, or C/C++ • Experience with FPGA-based communication, aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems What we offer • You will receive a thorough and careful induction with us • You will have an innovative and international working environment with modern fully equipped workplaces • The attractive Alpine foothills, near Munich, offer very good transport connections via the motorway (A8) and public transport (S-Bahn S3 and BRB) • You benefit from flexible working time models and the possibility of home office daysYou will receive a salary that matches your skills and previous experience • Profit sharing, salary optimization "More net for the gross" including bike leasing as well as PC leasing and a company pension scheme are part of our "WORK-Benefit-Program" • A pleasant working atmosphere with a well-equipped employee recreation room and an active break await you • We participate in social projects and are also happy to support you in your social commitment with paid time off work Contact We do not process applications received from headhunters or recruiters. • WORK Microwave GmbH • 83607 Holzkirchen, WORK Microwave GmbH • Presence / Mobile • Work experience • Engineer WORK Microwave – world leading top technologies.
